French

Children at Bourne Alliance get a real sense of achievement from mastering and using new key phrases when speaking French. We have a specialist French teacher who teaches all year groups.

By studying French, children are given the opportunity not only to learn about the culture but, more importantly, to communicate with others too. It is also a thoroughly enjoyable subject to learn, with an emphasis on the practical tasks, such as drama, story-telling, role-play, speaking and listening.

Throughout KS1 and KS2, children are given the opportunity to learn and practise the basics of the language using listening, reading, speaking and writing.
